At Saguna, we are dedicated to helping Communication Services Providers create application ecosystems in their access networks by promoting open, interoperable standards.

Saguna, the Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) pioneer making mobile and fixed broadband networks faster, simpler and more economical, announced today that Saguna Open-RAN is compliant with ETSI MEC APIs and Reference Architecture. With Saguna’s standard-based Multi access Edge Computing solutions, Communication Services Providers can attract application developers and create an edge-computing ecosystem of revenue generating services.

In July this year, the ETSI MEC ISG released its first package of MEC APIs including general principles for mobile edge service APIs, application lifecycle management, multi access edge platform application enablement, Radio Network Information API and Location API. With this announcement, the ETSI MEC standard offers a common framework across the industry for Communication Services Providers, integrators and application developers.

A Multi access Edge Computing pioneer and an active participant in the ETSI MEC group, Saguna is now the first company to support the ETSI MEC APIs in a commercial MEC Platform, Saguna Open-RAN. Communication Services Providers using Saguna Open-RAN can leverage the ETSI MEC Standard-based solution to ensure interoperability, promote innovation and accelerate application development.
Saguna is working with Industry leaders on creating pre-integrated Multi access Edge Computing solutions and reduce time to market for new services.

Arunmozhi Balasubramanian, Senior VP: Network Service – Solutions & Strategy at Tech Mahindra commented that “In pursuit of our DAVID (Digitalization, Automation, Verticalization, Innovation and Disruption) strategy, Tech Mahindra has placed its focus on Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), as the next frontier in Service Delivery. Our platform collaboration with Saguna will enable Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to run better with low latency applications leading to better monetizing of their networks. It will also enable them to change faster by collaborating with Over the Top (OTT) Content Providers to provide better network utilization, and grow revenues by sharing network cost and improve customer experience.”

Saguna Open-RAN, the most advanced Multi access Edge Computing solution, creates cloud computing ‘cloudlets’ inside the access network. The standard-based platform helps Communication Services Providers monetize, optimize, and accelerate their networks. With Saguna Open-RAN, Communication Services Providers can effectively deploy new revenue generating services for Internet-of-things (IoT), virtual and augmented-reality, connected cars, content-delivery, enterprise applications and more.

“At Saguna we are excited to bring to market the first standardized Multi access Edge Computing solution. We are dedicated to helping Communication Services Providers create application ecosystems in their access networks by promoting open, interoperable standards.” Commented Danny Frydman Saguna’s CTO “As the most advanced, standard-based Multi access Edge Computing platform, Saguna Open-RAN is playing a central role in accelerating MEC deployments and new application developments.”
