ASHEVILLE, N.C. (PRWEB) October 30, 2019
Aeroflow Breastpumps, a subsidiary of Aeroflow Healthcare, is thrilled to announce the winner of its second annual Pumping Room Makeover Contest: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
The contest, which launched in August 2019 during World Breastfeeding Week, received hundreds of entries from businesses around the country. Saint Thomas Midtown was selected last month as one of five finalists, moving on to receive more than 5,000 votes from the public and ultimately winning the Grand Prize by a landslide. The makeover will take place on November 6th and 7th, and the transformed pumping rooms will debut on Friday, November 8th, during a reception for current and graduate NICU families.
“The NICU at Saint Thomas Midtown was nominated by multiple members of its truly dedicated staff,” says Jennifer Jordan, Aeroflow Breastpumps Director of Mom & Baby. “We were so inspired by the stories they shared, and we couldn’t be happier to help create two comfortable, inviting spaces for the incredible mothers who are pumping for their little ones in the NICU each day.”
“Often, pumping is the only thing a NICU mom feels she can do for her infant,” says Brooke Miller, Nurse and Lactation Consultant at Saint Thomas Midtown. “Our goal is to be able to provide a room where she can escape to decrease stress, increase oxytocin and make more milk. The NICU journey is a roller coaster ride with a lot of highs and lows. These moms deserve a great room, and we’re excited to have Aeroflow Breastpumps’ help in making that happen!”
The Pumping Room Makeover coincides with Prematurity Awareness Month, a national effort to raise awareness of the more than 380,000 babies born preterm in the United States each year. Media interested in covering this event will have the opportunity to view the updated rooms and speak with NICU staff and representatives from contest sponsors, Aeroflow Breastpumps and Medela, LLC. Those planning to attend must RSVP by 3 p.m. ET Thursday, November 7th to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
