SaleMove Launches First Technology to Recreate Face-to-Face Dealership Showroom Experience Online
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- SaleMove, creators of breakthrough automotive online sales software, today announced the launch of its “Inbound Sales” platform, which is designed to unify the gap between the offline and online showroom. For the first time dealership sales consultants will be able to communicate directly and instantly with online car shoppers using SaleMove’s live video chat and collaborative search features and, at the same time, browse the showroom and inventory with the customer by sharing a dual-cursor control. The new platform virtually replicates the experience of shopping in a physical showroom, but the customer and the sales representative are interacting from their computers.
SaleMove co-founder and CEO Daniel Michaeli noted that, “In the future we see people actually completing the purchase of new and used vehicles online (or at least a very large part of the process). The millennial generation lives on the Internet and would rather video chat with a sales consultant than visit a dealership. This does not mean that the dealership is disappearing, but that dealers will have to move more interactions online in order to survive.”
SaleMove is designed to be easy for dealerships to adopt and easy for customers and sales staff to use. The software works with all website solutions (from WordPress to Cobalt to custom platforms) and was tested in a number of dealerships across the country before its launch.
Pete Ellis, who has invested in SaleMove and was the founder of Autobytel.com, the first car shopping and research website, said, “Because car pricing and information became easily available, the early Internet put the customer in charge of the buying process. With SaleMove, dealers can now capture customers at the beginning of their car shopping; engage with them in a meaningful way; and subsequently increase online closing ratios. SaleMove recreates the experience of shopping in a physical dealership, which has been the ‘holy grail’ that dealers have been unable to find on the Internet until now. This is why I became involved; this is the next evolution in Internet sales.”
How It Works
With SaleMove dealership personnel can see car shoppers browsing their website in real-time and interact with these visitors using live voice, video and collaborative browsing. Shoppers can also initiate communication with a sales consultant who is on the floor or in the dealership’s Internet department. For example:
• Alan is in the market for a new car and like 90 percent of car shoppers begins his research online by visiting a popular car-pricing site. He then checks local dealership websites.
• One of the stores uses SaleMove, and Alan decides to speak to a sales consultant. He clicks on an actual photo of a representative named Amy, and without having to download or install any software, he begins a video chat and browses inventory with her using SaleMove’s exclusive dual cursor.
• Alan and Amy discuss options and customize a car together.
• Amy sets up an appointment for Alan to come into the dealership for a test drive.
• One day later the sale is closed.
While 25-30 percent of dealerships have a ‘live chat’ option on their website, chat alone does not replicate the showroom experience of one-on-one sales. And SaleMove’s co-browsing and communication functions make possible true one-on-one sales, and there are no pop-outs, plugins, downloads or proxies.
Co-founder and CTO Carlos Paniagua noted, “SaleMove’s patent-pending software is really the technology of the future. Our goal is to provide solutions that easily allow dealerships to meet and exceed the physical sales experience–an important offering given that automotive sales have become increasingly commoditized.”
