$90 Million Renovation Transforms San Francisco Marriott Marquis Into Latest Local Gem
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- Fans of modern luxury will find style and elegance at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, which has just finished a $90 million, 10-year revitalization to add comfort and updated amenities throughout the downtown San Francisco hotel.
The first phase of the project modernized all public spaces, including the lobby and all dining spots. Meeting rooms were refreshed along with the ceiling of the Golden Gate Ballroom being raised to offer a more grand space to hold meetings or conferences. The second-floor atrium was remodeled to create a better flow between all of the rooms, adding 10 breakouts and a 5,000-square-foot foyer with dramatic skylights.
All 1,500 guest rooms were overhauled in the final phase of the project at the San Francisco hotel.
“We are so proud of our new hotel,” said Frank Manchen, Director of Sales and Marketing. “Everything was replaced, and our fabulous new look better reflects the modern elegance of our great city. We are known around the world for incredible service, and this renovation just ups the ante and provides a higher quality of comfort for our guests.”
The San Francisco accommodations offer stunning views and Marriott’s signature Revive bedding. Renovations in the 1,362 rooms and 138 suites included new wall covering, carpets and drapery as well as light fixtures and seating. New Internet cabling in all rooms allows for faster surfing speeds, while consoles allow guests to plug in their laptops so that the new 32-inch flat-screen LCD TVs can be used as a monitor.
Visitors can sample American and California fare at one of the hotel’s transformed dining establishments and experience some of the city’s best meals. The Mission Grille offers a locally inspired menu and serves breakfast daily. Bin 55 in the lobby offers lunch and dinner daily with a focus on small and family plates, 20 wines by the glass and draft and premium beers. For those guests wanting spectacular views of the city, The View bar and restaurant features dinner, cocktails and unequaled sights from the 39th floor.
Before a restful night in their deluxe rooms, visitors can have a rejuvenating workout in the state-of-the-art fitness center or take a refreshing dip in the indoor pool or whirlpool. The San Francisco day spa in the hotel also offers a quiet retreat for facials and massages. A sauna room can help guests clear their minds after a hard day’s work.
For business travelers or social affairs, the hotel near the Moscone Center offers 117,000 square feet of flexible meeting space in 59 rooms. The largest room is the Yerba Buena Ballroom, which has a maximum capacity of 5,500. The renovated Golden Gate Ballroom offers more than 23,000 square feet of space and can also be divided into salons. For meetings, weddings and galas, event planners can coordinate everything to fit any style.
Besides being one of the finest of the downtown hotels in San Francisco, the Marriott Marquis’ Mission Street location is ideal for a day on the town. Nearby AT&T Park is home to the World Champion San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. Families will love all the options of Union Square, which has world-class shopping and dining. The Yerba Buena Gardens is just steps from the hotel and offers public art, a children’s museum and a restored 1905 carousel. Westfield Mall with Nordstrom and Bloomingdales is adjacent to the hotel.
