Hauser & Lee Insurance Services reveals another worthy charity campaign as part of its ongoing efforts to help local people in need through their community enrichment program. The newest campaign focuses on supporting the needs of the San Francisco Bay area’s homeless women and children through nonprofit organization Shepherd’s Gate. Donations may now be made here.

Shepherd’s Gate was begun in 1984 by a remarkable woman named AliceAnn Cantelow. From it’s humble beginnings in AliceAnn’s own 2-bedroom home, today Shepherd’s Gate boasts two expansive locations in Livermore and Brentwood. Operating as a long-term, comprehensive safe haven, Shepherd’s Gate strives to address the root causes of homelessness by offering love, time and practical support to women and their children caught in the cycle of homelessness, addiction and domestic abuse. With education, counseling, case management, medical care, recovery programs, parenting and childcare classes, as well as job training, Shepherd’s Gate offers so much more than a hot meal and a bed. To date, over 11,000 women and children in desperate need have been helped toward brighter, more stable futures.

Darrell Lee, the agency’s principal, who has helped touch so many lives in the community, attested, “Shepherd’s Gate provides an invaluable service to our community, and we applaud the way they transform lives. We hope our fundraiser will raise awareness for this commendable organization and enable them to help even more women and children in need of safe haven.”

Hauser & Lee has demonstrated their commitment to the campaign by pledging to donate $10 for each and every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary. In the meantime, the team is also busy reaching out to their network of professional partners and personal contacts to help spread the word, as well as featuring the initiative for Shepherd’s Gate in their monthly magazine. Our Hometown is delivered to thousands of households in San Ramon and Castro Valley, where the agency operates.
