San Diego to Host 1,000 Physicians and Medical Professionals for 6th Annual International Plant-based Nutrition Healthcare Conference
SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) September 05, 2018 -- The Hilton San Diego Bayfront will play host to the 6th annual International Plant-based Nutrition Healthcare Conference, September 14-17, with this year’s record-breaking attendance being reflective of the growing interest in the evidence-based science that supports the efficacy of using food as medicine.
“In less than two weeks, nearly a thousand healthcare professionals from around the world will convene in San Diego for The Plantrician Project’s annual conference, this year marking the sixth annual CME-accredited event,” said Conference Co-founder Scott Stoll, MD. “The exponential growth of this conference highlights the fact that healthcare providers are beginning to recognize that one of the best solutions to today's healthcare crisis is a value-based, lifestyle intervention rooted in a whole food, plant-based dietary lifestyle.”
Among the members of this year’s conference faculty are three former Plantrician Project Luminary Award winners, T. Colin Campbell, PhD, Dean Ornish, MD, and last year’s winner Michael Klaper, MD. The presentation to the 2018 Luminary Award winner will take place during the conference opening night dinner on Friday, September 14.
“I’ve attended several Plant-based Nutrition Healthcare Conferences and can’t wait for the September event,” said Steve Lawenda, MD, of Kaiser Permanente’s Southern California Region. “If you attend one medical education event this year, let this be the one. Having experienced the profound impact of plant-based nutrition in my own life, I’ve incorporated it into my practice, resulting in treatment and even reversal of chronic disease in my patient population that’s been remarkable. As physicians, it’s our obligation to convey this powerful option to our patients.”
Stoll emphasizes that, “It’s not only the growth of the conference, but, throughout the year, the stories we hear from attendees of the remarkable changes they’re seeing in their own practices—stories of disease reversal and lives changed. Millions of patients around the world are being impacted as medical professionals leave the meeting, forever changed, and begin implementing food as medicine into their practices.”
