Santa Clara Marriott Welcomes New Members to Its Leadership Team
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- The Santa Clara Marriott has scored a game-winning touchdown with the addition of a new general manager who is tasked with enhancing the hotel’s already exceptional reputation that it has come to earn over the past 37 years.
All eyes will be on Santa Clara in the next few years with the San Francisco 49ers set to play in their new stadium in August 2014, Super Bowl L (50) arriving in 2016 and Tim Herrmann taking the reins of the Silicon Valley Marriott hotel.
Herrmann, a Marriott veteran who began his career with the company in 1981, arrives at the Santa Clara hotel from the Coronado Island Marriott Resort outside of San Diego. He started as a food and beverage management trainee at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort, a former Marriott property, outside of Palm Springs, CA. He rose to become the director of catering at the Philadelphia Marriott, then was promoted to Director of Group Sales and Director of Sales and Marketing at the same hotel. In 2002, Herrmann became Director of Sales and Marketing at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel as well as area director for five additional Renaissance hotels, all part of the Marriott brand.
In 2006, he was promoted to general manager in Coronado and helped propel the property to exceptional all-around results.
Two other directors will join Herrmann in Santa Clara to provide the best in service to groups as well and business and leisure travelers.
Freida Ossi has accepted the position of Resident Manager/Director of Hotel Room Operations as she expands her 15 years of sales experience with Marriott, including five at the hotel in Santa Clara.
Danny Williams will take Ossi’s current position as Director of Sales and Marketing. Williams was most recently the area sales leader representing 11 hotels in the Silicon Valley and Monterey. Williams has seven years of sales experience with Marriott.
With Levi’s Stadium opening in 2014 and the Super Bowl coming shortly after, the new Marriott team is excited to handle the extra demand on Santa Clara hotel accommodations.
"More than a billion fans will watch the NFL’s championship game and get a glimpse of the beauty in Santa Clara," Herrmann said. "I’m excited to be leading a team at a hotel that will be right in the middle of all the action. This gives us a phenomenal opportunity to show off the property while displaying the personal, warm and attentive service that the Santa Clara Marriott is known for."
One of the premier hotels in Santa Clara, the Marriott is minutes from San Jose International Airport in the heart of Silicon Valley. Featuring spacious guest rooms with balconies and luxurious bedding, the hotel is near Intel, McAfee and EMC. Guests will enjoy the farm-to-table tastes of Parcel 104, a large fitness center, four full-sized tennis courts and an outdoor pool.
