Santa Rosa Boot Camp Celebrates Successful 1,000lb Meltdown Challenge by Donating All Proceeds to the American Heart Association
Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) August 07, 2013 -- Fit Body Boot Camp in Santa Rosa is excited to announce the success of its 1,000lb. Meltdown Challenge by donating 100% of the proceeds collected to the American Heart Association.
Raising a grand total of $940 for the AHA and melting away 587 pounds of fat, the Santa Rosa Meltdown Challenge was deemed a success. Owners of the Fit Body Boot Camp Santa Rosa, Katie Switzer and Dallas Wicker, say they are thrilled that they had close to 50 people from the community come together to burn fat and melt pounds for a great cause.
The Santa Rosa Meltdown Challenge was launched on June 1st and lasted the entire month. A $20 donation was collected from participants, which gave them access to unlimited fitness boot camp training, nutritional support, and shopping guides to help keep them on track during the 30-day weight loss campaign.
Inspired by rising U.S. obesity statistics, the Santa Rosa Boot camp rolled out 1,000lb Meltdown Challenge. Switzer says, “America is becoming one of the fattest nations in the world. More than one-quarter of all American adults were obese in 2011 and that number is quickly rising. Childhood obesity is at 20%.”
Wicker adds, “Far too many Americans make unhealthy eating choices, don’t exercise, and watch more than fifteen hours of television per week. Yet they still feel they don’t have time to work out.”
Santa Rosa fitness experts Wicker and Switzer felt that it was important to start a weight loss campaign that would bring the community together with a common goal while supporting an important charity like the non-profit organization American Heart Association whose mission is to build better lives, free from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
