Sonoma County’s homeless children just got a bit warmer thanks to help of the Santa Rosa fitness center called Fit Body Bootcamp. They recently held a “Coats for Kids” clothing drive that proved to be a huge success. Collecting over two-dozen brand new children’s winter coats for the local charity and daytime shelter The Living Room, Santa Rosa Fit Body Bootcamp hopes to continue the tradition and make it an annual charity event.

Dallas Wicker, local fitness expert and co-owner of the Santa Rosa Fit Body Bootcamp, says, “We are so thankful to our community for supporting this effort to keep kids warm this winter. We're lucky to have a business that can make stuff like this happen. This was really exciting for us. Every day more and more coats were donated. It was such a great success, we've decided to make this an annual event.”

The “Coats for Kids” clothing drive collected new winter coats from members of the boot camp and gave non-members 21 days worth of results-driven fitness training and nutrition guidance in exchange for their donation. The Living Room, recipient of the donation and local day center whose mission is to provide a safe haven for homeless and at-risk women and their children, say they were excited to receive all the colorful winter coats.

Dedicated to improving the lives of the Santa Rosa community, Fit Body Bootcamp tries to give back in other ways than fitness. Wicker says, “We want to support the community that supports us, so we try to give back in any way that we can.”

Hoping to get Santa Rosa bikini ready in time for summer, Fit Body Boot Camp will launch a 37-Day Metabolic Kick-Start program on March 15th. The program is only $37 and includes 37 days of fitness training, an easy to follow nutrition plan and the support and motivation of a staff that’s known for getting people into the best shape of their lives.
