Caroline (Actress Candice Accola) to Wear Lapis Lazuli Dew Earrings by Saressa Designs on Halloween Episode of “The Vampire Diaries”
Portland, OR (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- Rachel Hughes of Saressa Designs (http://www.saressadesigns.com) has learned that Caroline (actress Candice Accola) will wear her Lapis Lazuli Dew earrings on the much anticipated Halloween episode of “The Vampire Diaries.” The episode, titled “Monster’s Ball,” airs Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 8/7c on The CW.
Hughes’ Dew earrings were chosen for “The Vampire Diaries” by wardrobe stylist Leigh Leverett after she discovered them in a collaborative Stylist Gift Bag presented by California-based The Artisan Group®.
Hughes says the fact that Leverett selected her earrings was especially rewarding given the difficulty she had deciding which of her jewelry designs to submit to the stylist. Ultimately Hughes went with a custom version of the popular, hand-wrapped, 14k gold filled Dew earrings, incorporating a Lapis Lazuli briolette instead of the usual Moss Aquamarine.
Notes the designer, "I chose Lapis not only because the stone has a history on “The Vampire Diaries” but because I knew the color would really pop on the screen. I’m excited to see Caroline wearing these earrings!”

Earlier this fall, Hughes gifted her wire-wrapped Druzy Solitaire necklace to celebrities, VIPs and members of the press attending the The Artisan Group® exhibit at GBK’s Celebrity Gift Lounge for Primetime Emmys and her Arrow necklace was included in The Artisan Group® celebrity swag bags for GBK’s Styling Lounge for 2013 New York Fashion Week. Both events resulted in great exposure and plenty of praise for the Portland, Oregon based designer, who takes a handcrafted approach to adornment with her fashion forward, wire-wrapped gemstone jewelry.
“After the giftings, I received really nice Tweets and Thank You Notes from Raquel Raiola (“MiamiMonkey”), Alysia Reiner (“Orange is the New Black”), Sonja Morgan (Real Housewives of New York), Matt Letscher (“Scandal”), Dania Ramirez (“Devious Maids”), Hayley Orrantia (“The Goldbergs”), Sufe Bradshaw (Veep), Joyce Giraud (“Siberia,” The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”) and Kyle Schmid (“Copper,” “Being Human”),” noted Hughes. “Alysia Reiner was photographed in my Arrow necklace at Seth Meyers’ Gotham Magazine Cover Party. Raquel Raiola also sent me photos of herself wearing my Arrow necklace."
To help celebrate these recent successes, Hughes will be running an online Black Friday – Cyber Monday Sales Event, which will include free U.S. shipping. Hughes says that last year, many pieces sold out during this event and suggests, “If people plan out what they want ahead of time, they can definitely score their favorites at a great price.” Dew earrings, Arrow Necklace and more will be available. Interested parties can sign up for a newsletter announcement on the Saressa designs home page.
Hughes describes her jewelry designs as lightweight and minimalist, with an elegant and slightly rustic feel. “My pieces are terrific alone but you can also layer them to create a statement look.” Best sellers include the "Moss Aquamarine Solitaire" and "Delgado" necklaces, as well as the hammered bangles.
Saressa Designs jewelry is available on line at saressadesigns.com and etsy.com/SaressaDesigns, as well as at select boutiques and art shows.
