“With continuing growth in cybercrime, knowing the best practices and the biggest threats in security is essential for consumers, business and the public sector today”, said Illena Armstrong, VP of editorial at SC Magazine.
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 6 March 2014
SC Magazine, the premier resource for information security professionals, today announced the participation of additional experts who will provide their insight on today’s most important security developments at the first-ever SC Congress London conference and expo on March 20. To be held at the ILEC Conference Centre, this live event offers up the best and brightest information security leaders from the private and public sectors to address the latest evolutions in threats and the solutions and strategies to protect enterprises.
“With continuing growth in cybercrime, knowing the best practices and the biggest threats in security is essential for consumers, business and the public sector today”, said Illena Armstrong, VP of editorial at SC Magazine. “As security challenges persist and threats against public and personal safety grow, the currents are continuing to shift in the security versus privacy debate. At SC Congress London, attendees will receive the expert guidance, practical solutions and timely information necessary to help organisations combat today’s cyber criminals and to discuss important policy issues related to privacy and security”.
New speakers and panellists have been added to the agenda and will discuss the following questions in depth:
- How does a company provide mobility for employees while protecting the network?
Mobile devices are becoming increasingly important for businesses to communicate with their mobile workers. Rick Doten, CISO for DMI, Paul Swarbrick, global CISCO for Norton Rose Fulbright and Ann Bevits, partner with Morrison & Foerster (UK) LLP will discuss the increasing complexities of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend and what it means for enterprise security.
- What are the expectations of online privacy during a national crisis?
The keynote luncheon address will feature Eerke Boiten, director of the Cyber Security Research Centre at the University of Kent, Steve Wright, global privacy officer for Unilever PLC and Bridget Treacy, partner with Hunton & Williams, to discuss some of the factors in determining where government and businesses draw the line in terms of privacy during a national crisis, including what situations the definition of crisis might include. Among the issues they will address will be the differences between online norms and those established in the physical world and the most recent thinking on the line dividing privacy and national security.
- Inside, outside, upside down, how can your company stay ahead of the threats, wherever they come from?
Whether today's threat originates from an organised crime network, is state-sponsored, hacktivist-motivated or on-premise from a disgruntled insider, make no mistake: the threat is there. So how are you dealing with it? Newly added speakers, Frank Florentine, director, LilyCo Limited and Daniel Schatz, director, info security threat & vulnerability management, Thomson Reuters will join with Brian Brackenborough, CISO for Channel 4 in a panel discussion on keeping ahead of these threats.
The newly announced speakers from legal firms and the public and private sectors will join those from the earlier announced sessions to provide comprehensive insight and strategy for facing today’s trending security issues.
In addition to the above sessions, the SC Congress London will include sessions covering:
- The evolving state of security in the cloud – Join John Howie, COO of the Cloud Security Alliance, as he discusses the evolution of security dialogue and concerns with cloud computing as the technology gains broad acceptance. John will also provide unique insight while forecasting security in the cloud and what your next concerns may be.
- Cyber Crime UK: The Upcoming London Fraud and Cyber Centre - Noting the need to better support enterprises being attacked by cyber criminals of all kinds, the Metropolitan Police are opening a new Fraud and Cyber Centre. In this session, Mark T. Jackson, Detective Superintendent for serious and organised crime at the Metropolitan Police, will focus on the new Centre and how it will help enterprises in reporting and stopping such cyber crime.
