Scaled Agile Celebrates Growth Milestone by Donating $500,000 to Five Humanitarian Aid Organizations
BOULDER, Colo. (PRWEB) October 28, 2019 -- Scaled Agile, Inc., provider of SAFe®, the world’s leading framework for business agility, announced that the company is donating $500,000 to five humanitarian aid organizations as part of its Pledge 1% commitment and Do All the Good You Can campaign.
The initiative is part of Scaled Agile’s celebration of a growth milestone: as of October, 2019, over 500,000 professionals have taken SAFe training and the community continues to grow at an increasing rate each year. In determining how to distribute the funds, 2,000 attendees of the recent Global SAFe Summit were invited to select their favorite cause, which resulted in significant contributions to all five organizations:
— Water.org - $150,000
Water.org has empowered more than 22 million people around the world with access to safe water or sanitation through affordable financing.
— Action Against Hunger - $125,000
Action Against Hunger is the world’s hunger specialist and leader in a global movement that aims to end life-threatening hunger for good within our lifetimes.
— Easterseals - $100,000
For 100 years, Easterseals has served as an indispensable resource for individuals with disabilities, veterans, seniors, and their families.
— Engineers Without Borders USA - $75,000
Engineers Without Borders USA harnesses the skills of engineers and equips leaders to tackle the infrastructure challenges that keep the world's most vulnerable people from living healthy, productive lives.
— Direct Relief- $50,000
Direct Relief is a medical relief organization, active in 50 states and 80 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations.
Melanie Mendrys, Water.org’s Director of Brand and Marketing explains the impact, “A donation of $150,000 will help to provide 11,942 people in need with access to safe water—giving hope, health and opportunity around the world.”
Kim Pucci, Director of External Relations, Action Against Hunger, added, “$125K will help Action Against Hunger to diagnose and treat 2,500 kids suffering from life-threatening hunger—giving these children a brighter future."
“As it is with all things SAFe, we don’t do this alone. Everyone who contributes to the success of SAFe has made it possible for us to pay it forward to the people who need it the most,” said Scaled Agile’s founder Dean Leffingwell.
“Corporate giving is an integral part of our culture,” said Scaled Agile’s CEO Chris James. “Since joining Pledge 1%, we’ve launched a matching gift program for employees, and to support a giving culture, we also provide our employees volunteer time off, which they have used to donate more than 3,600 service hours to the local community.”
