Scalr Introduces Multi-Cloud Management for VMware vSphere

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 15, 2016 -- Today Scalr, The Enterprise-Grade Cloud Management Platform, announced native support for VMware vSphere deployments.

Scalr is now a single pane of glass to manage resources, enforce policy, and control costs across public and private clouds such as AWS, Azure, Docker, Google, OpenStack, and now vSphere.

Today’s VMware Administrator is faced with pressure to adopt public cloud to offer a self-service, API-centric experience to internal customers, but lacks the operational experience and tooling to perform her mission across both VMware and other cloud platforms, like AWS.   • VMware’s excellent suite of products and operational tools are simply not designed to support public cloud deployments effectively.
  • VMware vCloud has been deprecated.
  • VMware vRealize does not support public clouds as well as it does VMware products.
  • Leveraging VMware’s VIO implementation of Openstack is a possible approach for her but then requires deep knowledge of Openstack and still requires additional tools and expertise to incrementally add public cloud platforms.

VMware-based datacenters have historically delivered a high level of control for sensitive applications requiring heightened data protection, and will continue to have a place in a hybrid cloud strategies. At the same time, public cloud offers benefits, including a much greater level of agility, that companies must be able to leverage.

Scalr’s approach to this challenge has been to maximize the powerful capabilities offered in the vSphere APIs for the most complete hybrid cloud solution in the market. With Scalr, VMware administrators can offer users self-service for VMware workloads in a secure, responsible manner. Getting started is easy. Simply add the vSphere hostname, username and password to Scalr and datacenters, datastores, resource pools, and templates will be automatically discovered. Admins are then able to re-deploy and migrate applications.
