Schaumburg Family Law Attorney Named Co-Chair of NWSBA Young Lawyers Committee
Schaumburg, IL (PRWEB) November 30, 2016 -- The Schaumburg law firm of Anderson & Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce that Attorney Kelly L. Petersen has been named co-chair of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s (NWSBA’s) Young Lawyers Committee.
The NWSBA is a legal organization, which consists of over 650 volunteer members. The Association includes attorneys, judges, legal staff, and honorary members. The mission of the NWSBA is to serve the legal community and residents of Chicago’s northwest suburbs through education, philanthropy, and volunteer opportunities.

Cook County Family Law Attorney Kelly L. Petersen graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and she went on to earn her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. While attending law school, Petersen earned a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in the area of Comparative Family Law. She also held the position of supervising editor of the DePaul Journal of Women, Gender & the Law.
Petersen concentrates her legal practice in family law matters related to divorce, post-decree issues, child and spousal support, child custody and visitation, prenuptial agreements, and orders of protection. She also concentrates her practice on probate law, including the administration of decedents estate and adult guardianships.
In addition to the NWSBA, Petersen holds memberships to the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. She also serves as a board member on the Associate Board of Directors of LifeSpan, a non-profit legal organization, which provides services to domestic violence victims. Petersen also contributes to the DuPage County Bar Association’s legal publication, The Brief.
