Cumberland Academy of Georgia, a School For Learning Disabilities, Received a Grant from The Believe in Me Foundation
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 29, 2013 -- Cumberland Academy of Georgia is a special needs school for high functioning Autism, Asperger’s and other learning disorders and is located in the Atlanta area. Cumberland has continued to grow in number of students and faculty and therefore more space became necessary. In May, Cumberland purchased the school building and intends to renovate to accommodate the growth in students and number of programs offered. Cumberland began seeking grants as part of a Capital Campaign, and last week, The Believe in Me Foundation offered assistance and awarded Cumberland Academy a sizeable grant.
In renovating the building, the gymnasium was one of the first areas in need of improvement. With this grant, Cumberland will be able to update the current gym space, improving its attractiveness and functionality. In addition to making necessary renovations to the gymnasium, classrooms will be updated so they can continue to provide their excellent programs for children with Autism, Asperger's, ADD, ADHD and other learning differences.
“The generous grant from The Believe in Me Foundation will enable Cumberland to accomplish amazing renovations to our gymnasium which is a central point in our school,” said Don Sasso, Principal of Cumberland Academy of Georgia.
The Believe in Me Foundation is committed to supporting the education and welfare of children with Autism, and works to ensure that children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders have access to an education to help them become as independent and successful as they can be.
Cumberland Academy of Georgia specializes in the needs of students in grades four through twelve who have high-functioning Autism, Asperger’s, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities.
