SchoolMessenger, the leading provider of communication solutions for the education market and a subsidiary of West Corporation, today announced that its Custom Mobile App solution has been named best Communication Solution in the 2015 EdTech Digest Awards. The Custom Mobile App solution was further recognized as a finalist in the Emerging Technology Solution and Mobile Device Solution categories in the program.

Each year, the EdTech Digest Awards honor tools, trendsetters and leaders in the education and technology sector. The program has previously recognized SchoolMessenger, honoring the company with a Cool Tool Award and several finalist designations in 2013 and 2014.

"Being recognized by this distinguished panel of educators and industry innovators is a great honor, and a testament to the success we are having with our Custom Mobile Apps solution in districts throughout the country," said Robert Iskander, general manager at SchoolMessenger. "We are thrilled that EdTech Digest has again chosen to recognize us for our technology leadership.”

Originally launched in 2012, and currently in use by more than 300 districts nationwide, SchoolMessenger’s Custom Mobile App solution allows districts and schools to claim their place in the app stores and deliver news, events, grades, emergency alerts and more to parents and community members on the go.

Victor Rivero, who oversees the program as Editor in Chief of EdTech Digest, noted that the awards program was designed to encourage innovation in the field of education technology. “Shining a spotlight on the best and brightest, we intend to generate even more activity in this sector for the benefit of future generations," Mr. Rivero said.
