Schoolzilla PBC Partners with Chesterfield County Public Schools to Drive Continuous Improvement in Schools
CCPS to leverage Schoolzilla's data warehouse and analytics platform to make K-12 data useful and actionable for their educators and to support leaders to catalyze data conversations as part of the cycle of continuous improvement.
OAKLAND, Calif., March 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Schoolzilla, a Public Benefit Corporation that empowers school systems to use data to run great schools, has been selected by Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) in Virginia to provide a K-12 data warehouse and analytics platform to assist CCPS in tracking their progress towards the State of Virginia's Standards of Accreditation. Schoolzilla's data warehouse and Mosaic, its multi-measure dashboard system, will enable CCPS to use timely, accurate and relevant data to monitor and inform decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Schoolzilla was awarded the contract on February 28, 2019, with a winning bid in a competitive field of 12 vendors. According to the scoring results, factors leading to the decision included dashboards and individual metrics that were very intuitive and principal-friendly as well as the ease with which administrators could interact with the Schoolzilla system and view relevant information.
Supporting CCPS "Imagine Tomorrow" Strategic Plan
In August 2018, CCPS adopted the "Imagine Tomorrow" plan with a vision to create a "better tomorrow" for the school division. A key goal of this plan is that all students and staff will embody an "Infinite Learner" mindset as measured by multiple metrics of growth, achievement, and engagement. "CCPS leaders have been charged with developing measures that capture various aspects of student success and we can help them do just that," said Storey Sitwala, product director at Schoolzilla. "Our Mosaic platform combines real-time, researched-backed indicators with mobile-ready, human-centered design to ensure that CCPS will have the insights they need to drive continuous and equitable improvement."
Schoolzilla recently announced a new feature, Metric Zoom, that extends Mosaic's analytical capabilities by allowing deeper drill-downs into a school system's data. School and division leaders will be able to:
- View up to five years of data
- Compare and filter results by any combination of 14 standard demographic, school, and grade level groups
- Drill down by custom groups unique to the school system
- View and export a data table
This contract marks the first division partnership in the state of Virginia for Schoolzilla. "We are excited to have such an innovative partner as our first adopter in the state of Virginia," said Lynzi Ziegenhagen, founder and CEO of Schoolzilla. "We prioritize our product features based on division feedback and having CCPS input on Virginia-specific needs will enable us to better serve students across the state".
