Sea Island Shrimp House kicks off 50th anniversary celebration in January with a monthly $50 gift certificate drawing for Reel Rewards members.

Sea Island Shrimp House is marking its 50th anniversary serving the freshest seafood in San Antonio in 2015. To celebrate this milestone, Sea Island is offering members of Reel Rewards, the restaurant’s loyalty club program, a chance to win a $50 gift certificate every month by a drawing.

Beginning in January, and each subsequent month in the year, the restaurant will draw the name of an individual enrolled in Reel Rewards who will win a $50 gift certificate redeemable at any of Sea Island’s six San Antonio area locations.

As a Reel Rewards member, individuals enjoy a present on their birthday every year, exclusive seafood restaurant discounts and offers, including half-price drinks. In addition, upon enrollment, members receive a coupon for a free Mexican-style shrimp cocktail.

The three South Texas friends who founded Sea Island Shrimp House, Dan and Chrissy Anthony and Henry Reed, were right on the mark when they created a restaurant that focused on serving the freshest seafood, including wild-caught Texas Gulf shrimp, at affordable prices. The partners opened their first restaurant at 322 W. Rector in 1965 and quickly gained a loyal following.

The company is still family owned and operated and the original location is still bustling, often with three generations of families sharing their passion for fresh and delicious seafood.
