Séance: The Unquiet, a new and eerie VR experience set in a haunted house full of mysterious secrets, will be shown for the first time at SXSW’s Gaming Expo this week in Austin, TX
When: Thursday, March 16 - Saturday, March 18
Where: SXSW Gaming Expo Booth 2003
Who: Holospark is a new, independent game studio just outside of Seattle.
What: Séance: The Unquiet is releasing on Windows PC for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets in 2017. “We're telling a ghost story full of character, drama, scares, and surprises," said writer and executive producer John Scott Tynes of Holospark. "And we're using the immersive power of interactive virtual reality to put you inside the story in a way you won't forget."
- SXSW Gaming Expo attendees can be the first to experience this dramatic new experience in virtual reality. Holospark will be offering five-minute demonstrations of Séance: The Unquiet, excerpted from what will be a twenty-minute experience releasing this summer.
- Using a combination of the Unreal video game engine and the latest in Hollywood-style performance-capture technology, Séance: The Unquiet weaves a frightening and intriguing tale that blends cinematic storytelling with subtle interactivity.
- Séance explores new terrain in VR storytelling by placing you inside a haunted house whose spirits know you are there, look you in the eye, and share their secrets.
- Séance follows Holospark's initial VR project The Impossible Travel Agency, a beautiful blend of music and storytelling available in the Oculus Store and on Steam.
