Correction: New Orleans Online Marketing Firm Search Influence Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness with "Likes for Lives" Campaign
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- During the month of October, national online marketing firm Search Influence will promote a unique breast cancer awareness campaign entitled "Likes for Lives" through its company Facebook page in support of the Breastoration Fund, a project of the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans. For each new "like" on the Search Influence Facebook page, the company will donate $1.00 to the Fund.
Search Influence offers the "Likes for Lives" program to its clients and partners, including elective surgery practices that wish to increase awareness of their services and commitment to the cause. In 2011, Search Influence client Donaldson Plastic Surgery gained 332 fans during the month of October to support its charity, the Stefanie Spielman Fund in Ohio. The practice rounded up its donation, giving the breast cancer research fund $500.00.
"We saw the program succeed with our clients, so we thought it was appropriate to implement it ourselves and raise some money for a good cause," Search Influence CEO Will Scott said. "Since we are a primarily female organization, including some women who have been touched by breast cancer in their families, the Breastoration Fund’s mission resonates with us."
Search Influence has pledged to donate $5,000.00 to the sponsorship of a benefit screening of the movie “Decoding Annie Parker,” an inspirational new drama about the discovery of the BRCA gene, starring Helen Hunt (“The Sessions”), Samantha Morton (“The Messenger”) and Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), which will be released commercially next year. Search Influence is hoping for the support of its Facebook fans in achieving this goal.
“Decoding Annie Parker” will be shown during the New Orleans Film Festival on October 16, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. at the Prytania Theatre in New Orleans. Preceding the screening at 7:00 p.m., the film’s director Steven Bernstein will appear with one of the film’s inspirations, three-time cancer survivor, Annie Parker, at a reception to benefit the Breastoration Fund, an initiative that helps breast cancer patients access breast reconstruction following surgical mastectomies.
A previous version of this announcement incorrectly described the movie “Decoding Annie Parker” as a documentary. It is a narrative feature starring Helen Hunt, Samantha Morton and Aaron Paul.

About the Breastoration Fund
The Breastoration Fund was created by breast cancer survivors Sandy Keller, Eve Wallinga and Kim Sport to help breast cancer patients access the treatment no one talks about – breast reconstruction following surgical mastectomies. The survivor-founders decided not to create a separate 501(c)(3) for the Breastoration Fund, and instead to place the fund under the auspices of CAGNO – the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans, which serves 13 parishes in SE Louisiana and has been in existence since 1958.
