SemaConnect, Inc. announced today that it was chosen by Beacon Place Apartments to install an electric-vehicle charging station at a multi-residential property in Gaithersburg, MD.

The station, now installed, is located at Beacon Place Apartments, at 916 Beacon Square Court, a property that is managed by commercial real estate services firm, Avison Young, on behalf of Beacon Place’s owner.

Beacon Place Apartments is one of 1,700 properties managed by Avison Young in the Washington, DC market. Dewey says the SemaConnect charger project at Beacon Place fits seamlessly into Avison Young’s philosophy of striving to increase global environmental, economic and social sustainability.

  •     Run sustainability reports on fossil fuel and carbon dioxide emissions;
  •     See real-time electricity metering;
  •     Manage electric vehicle driver usage.

SemaConnect has an iPhone and Android smartphone app that allows EV drivers to manage charging sessions, search for stations and manage accounts. SemaConnect has also partnered with Recargo on its PlugShare app, the most widely used application for electric vehicle drivers, which allows them to start a charging session right from the PlugShare app for more convenience.
