Senior Home Care Company 2nd Family, Founded by Cousins in Memory of Their Grandmother's Struggle With Alzheimer's, Honored in 2019 Inc. 5000
2nd Family, a family-owned senior home care company founded by cousins Chad Tracey and Joshua Markland in memory of their grandmother's struggle with Alzheimer's disease, placed #2100 on this year's Inc. 5000 list.
ELDERSBURG, Md., Aug. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- 2nd Family was recently honored on the Inc. 5000 list, landing at #2100 on the 2019 edition of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the U.S.
A senior home care company, 2nd Family was founded in 2012 by cousins Chad Tracey and Joshua Markland in memory of their grandmother's 10-year struggle with Alzheimer's disease. The mission was simple - improve the care process to help families keep their loved ones at home. Using a unique combination of the latest technology coupled with a specific process for delivering the highest quality care, 2nd Family has helped hundreds of families in central Maryland enable their loved ones to age in place.
"Most people prefer to stay at home and age in place," explains Chad Tracey. "It's our mission to help them do so. I have a picture of my grandparents hanging right outside of my office. Every day when I see that picture, it reminds me why I work so hard."
That hard work has paid off, as 2nd Family has received 9 awards over the past 5 years, including recognition as one of the Top Workplaces of Baltimore in 2018. For Tracey and Markland, the recognition is further proof of a concept that continues to achieve it's goals.
The newest goal is to expand 2nd Family's geographic reach through franchising. Using their current location as the blueprint, Tracey and Markland have begun to work with qualified applicants from around the country who are interested in becoming senior care entrepreneurs to establish a network of 2nd Family locations.
"Knowing that we've helped hundreds of families in central Maryland is a wonderful feeling," said Joshua Markland, "and I'm really excited about the prospects of developing our network of franchise owners, who will in turn help hundreds of families in their own communities as well."
