Water Taxi Expands with Local Hollywood Route, Express Intercity Service, and Added Stops at New River and Beachwalk Resort
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) January 18, 2016 -- The Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi today announced a major expansion of its services, launching on Tuesday, January 19. A new local route will begin in Hollywood, along with an express service connecting Water Taxi’s Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina/Convention Center stop to the recently added stop at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. Two additional stops will also be added: one along the New River in Fort Lauderdale between the Stranahan House and the Riverside Hotel, and the second at Hallandale’s Beachwalk Resort, now the Water Taxi’s southernmost stop.
Water Taxi’s new express service between the Hilton Marina/ Convention Center (now stop #6) and Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort (stop H1) will make 18 round-trips per day. Express service boats will depart every 45 minutes from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale, and from 10:45 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. in Hollywood. (Last boat for Fort Lauderdale connections beyond stop 6 leaves Hollywood at 9:15 p.m.)
The new local Hollywood route will feature five stops, including Margaritaville’s 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, Joe’s Market, Diplomat Resort & Spa, Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach and the Beachwalk Resort. Water Taxis will pick up at each stop every 45 minutes, and riders enjoying just the local route can take advantage of a reduced fare of only $16 for an all-day pass.
Water Taxi’s Hollywood stops will provide guests with convenient access to the exciting array of dining, shopping and other entertainment options of Hollywood Beach and Broadwalk, including the Hollywood Beach Bandshell. Recently updated and now run by Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, the Bandshell provides free open-air entertainment with live performances running from 7-9 p.m. several nights each week. With the Water Taxi’s last express service departure to the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina at 10:45 p.m., guests will have plenty of time to enjoy these performances or a late evening drink at 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar and Grill before heading back home.
Water Taxi is also excited to reintroduce its famous Island Adventure boat. Originally built in 1964, this Water Taxi has been rebuilt from the keel up and will provide a fantastic experience for guests on the new Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale Express Route.
“This is a momentous day for Water Taxi and our partners, which we have looked forward to for a long time,” said Water Taxi co-owner Mike McGurl. “Providing the best possible service to our customers is always our top priority, so we listened to feedback, brainstormed, and are very excited to introduced these new initiatives that we know will enhance the guest experience.
