Qualia Develops New App to Provide Enhanced Privacy for Twitter Users
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) September 12, 2014 -- Service design and experience design firm Qualia has developed Tweeling, a Twitter app for iOS which improves the Twitter experience by allowing users to control the privacy of their tweets. Tweeling combines the public and protected features of Twitter, but doesn’t require you to switch back and forth between a public and protected Twitter account.
Have a tweet you want to share with the world but you can’t from your private Twitter account? Have something to tweet but only want a selected few to view it? Currently Twitter doesn’t offer a way for its users to tweet publicly and privately from the same account. Tweeling fixes this shortcoming of Twitter by combining two Twitter accounts into a unified Tweeling account, thus allowing its users the best of both worlds.
“We found it odd and annoying that Twitter didn’t have an option for people to restrict their tweets when they wanted to. Up until now Twitter users have been forced to have two accounts and log in and out of them in order to have privacy options on their tweets. Tweeling fixes that.” said Robert J. Neal, director of strategy at Qualia.
Tweeling addresses Twitter’s privacy gap by combining users’ public and private accounts so that they function as one account in the Tweeling app. This gives users the freedom to post public and restricted tweets. For those that only have one account, Tweeling walks you through creating another Twitter account that complements your existing account. Once you have both, you can view tweets from both accounts in one unified feed. You can also reply, retweet, and favorite from either your public or private account. Switching between the two privacy options is as easy as a flick of the thumb.
“We want our users to feel like they have one account. We want them to have both a private and public Twitter life. That’s what people have come to expect from social networks and there’s no reason it should be different for Twitter.” Neal said.
Tweeling first made its appearance in the app store earlier this summer. Version 1.1.1 was released September 2, 2014. For more information visit http://tweelingapp.com and find them on Twitter @TweelingApp.
