Shady Grove Fertility Greater Philadelphia Family Day

We see the power of community and the power that belief and hope brings to our patients.

Shady Grove Fertility hosted their third annual Philadelphia metro region Family Day on Sunday, September 18, 2016. Philadelphia metro region reproductive endocrinologists, Drs. Isaac E. Sasson, Sunita Kulshrestha, Abraham K. Munabi, and the Pennsylvania staff of Shady Grove Fertility hosted nearly 300 families for a day of fun, celebration, laughter, and ear to ear smiles at Elmwood Park Zoo.

“Going through infertility can often feel isolating and alone. Coming together on this day represents our unique journeys and the many hurdles we have overcome. Seeing everyone with their families is incredibly moving and emotional. We all feel connected to one another because of our journeys to get to this point. Being surrounded by these new families and the happiness, warmth, and love that filled the air is so heartwarming,” remarked one former SGF patient.

Dr. Sasson added, “Patients entrust us with their care at such a vulnerable time in their lives. We get to know these patients on such a personal level. Seeing these patients again with their new families is the most rewarding part of our profession. The overwhelming amount of emotions that we experience on a day like today is truly indescribable.”

Families lined up with each of the Shady Grove Fertility physicians to have their pictures taken and express their mutual appreciation and gratitude. “Our annual Family Day is a wonderful way to celebrate our patients, their perseverance and their ability to have continued hope in the face of many challenges. These patients are our ‘Reason to Believe,” added Dr. Kulshrestha.

Shady Grove Fertility’s 2016 ‘Reason to Believe’ campaign commemorates 25 years and over 40,000 babies born. To commemorate this important milestone, Shady Grove Fertility launched a “Believe It’s Possible" campaign earlier this year to build hope for the one in eight couples who are affected by infertility, and to serve as a reminder that there are now treatments available to help almost everyone conceive.

“We see the power of community and the power that belief and hope brings to our patients. It’s what fuels our passion and reignites our practice’s commitment to excellence every day,” said Dr. Munabi.

Shady Grove Fertility is encouraging its community in the Philadelphia metro region and all of its 26 locations throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., to share their reasons to believe with others—whether that’s a picture of their Shady Grove Fertility baby or something along their journey that has served as a source of inspiration—by posting to their favorite social community using the hashtag #BelieveItsPossible.
