Author Shane O’Connell invites his readers to relive the experiences of a seasoned traveler and venture to no less than 35 countries where they will witness firsthand the peoples and cultures of these nations. Through this sojourn, they will learn new ways of life, histories, and alternate forms of government. O’Connell’s new book reflects on the past, the present, and the things that may come tomorrow. Through its narrative, it imparts an important lesson to its readers: Be prepared and Expect the Unexpected.

The book is a chronicle of O’Connell and his family, their lives, their experiences, and the journey they shared through the years, including Europe. Living in Paris inter alia, as well as extended stays in South East Asia, Turkey, the Americas and the U.K. O’Connell recollects their voyages to dozens of countries, he not only recounts their exploits, but also gives some exposition on the places they explored, including historical references, geographical information, and personal perspectives on contemporary issues, such as family structures and political systems.

This book is a personal allegory. Hopefully, it will provide readers to question things as they are and how they came to be, and where they can be in the future. All the four major themes: personal, travel, history, and contemporary issues, are interrelated in some way as well as other relevant issues including a move to an Australian Republic by February 2016 in a roadmap with three easy steps.

"I hope you enjoy it and as you turn each page, Expect the Unexpected," O’Connell says to his readers as he beckons them to join him in exploring the world through the pages of his book.
