Central Texas home shopping channel is providing meals to children in need

The need to serve our communities is greater than ever. During the coronavirus pandemic, one in four kids in America can be facing hunger this year.

Nationally broadcast home shopping channel and ecommerce website, Shop LC, announces Tuesday that 20 million meals have been provided through the Shop LC One for One Program.

The Shop LC One for One Program donates one meal to a hungry child in the US or India for every item purchased. Since 2017, the Central Texas-based network has been providing these meals at no extra cost to the consumer. Instead, the cost is paid directly from Shop LC profits.

The purpose of these programs is to connect children with an education without having to worry about being hungry. Feeding kids at school sees increased attendance, better performance, and lower dropout rates. For children coming from low-income homes, it provides the opportunity to break the cycle of generational poverty.
