Local Businesses Collect Shoes for Soles4Souls Shop Local for a Cause Event
South Orange, NJ (PRWEB) October 10, 2013 -- The drive will be held October 23-25 with local businesses throughout the United States accepting shoe donations for Soles4Souls while offering customers incentives to shop on those specific days. Some of the local New Jersey businesses include Davis Family Farmers Agency in Cape May, Anthony L Pugliese Agency, Inc. in East Brunswick, and McKoy Agency LLC in South Orange. Other businesses in the area include DS Pool Service in Norristown, PA.
This is the NALA’s fourth Shop Local for a Cause event, an awareness campaign which supports local businesses and national causes. The NALA’s businesses all over the United States are coming together and asking their communities to bring in new or gently worn shoes during these special days. Experts estimate that approximately 300 million children worldwide – almost as many as the entire U.S. population – live without shoes on their feet. Lacking proper footwear, countless children will not be able or permitted to attend school. And tens of millions of these poverty-stricken, barefoot boys and girls will be infected with soil-transmitted parasitic diseases like hookworm, causing lasting suffering and lifelong debilitation. This event will enable Soles4Souls to continue working to prevent this distress and better the lives of those in need.
