St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- Famous Chinese military general, Sun Tzu, once said, “Know thy self, know thy enemy.” Parameter Security, St. Louis-based ethical hacking firm, echoes Tzu’s sentiments by bringing their second annual hacking and offensive cyber security conference to St. Louis – ShowMeCon. The 2 day conference, which will run from May 5th through May 6th, will amaze, frighten and educate event-goers as they get an up-close look into the minds of hackers.
“Last year we brought TakeDownCon to St. Louis and the response was overwhelming. This year, we are doing it again but changing the name to ShowMeCon. Since we are the Show Me State, we are once again going to show attendees today’s state of security from a hacker’s point of view and it’s very eye-opening,” said Renee Chronister, co-founder and CEO of Parameter Security.
ShowMeCon is geared toward IT and security professionals who fight the war against hackers on a daily basis. Through presentations, demonstrations and training, attendees will better understand the minds and motives of hackers so they can effectively defend against attacks – whether cyber or physical. In addition to witnessing real-world hacks, attendees will discover the latest vulnerabilities, the most powerful exploits and current security threats. Plus, event-goers can participate in ShowMeCon’s “capture the flag” contest and take their best shot at hacking into various environments.
This two day con will feature a variety of speakers including professional hacker and co-founder of Parameter Security, Dave Chronister who has recently been featured on CNN, Bloomberg TV and FOX Business News discussing the Target hack. Some keynote speakers include: Raphael Mudge, creator of Armitage and Cobalt Strike and Evan Treefort Booth, who hacks seemingly harmless objects after passing through airport security creating lethal weapons, attracting international media attention.
Preceding the conference is a five day training boot camp. Hacker University will, once again, offer technical training and certification classes including: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), Certified information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Network Defense and Advanced Mobile, Wi-Fi and Network Hacking.
ShowMeCon will be held at Ameristar Casino in St. Charles, Missouri. For more information on the conference, the boot camps or to register in advance, please visit http://www.ShowMeCon.com.
