Our vision is to connect the global business community with the talent of Latin America.
Jacksonville, Fla. (PRWEB) May 17, 2016
SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, and Nearshore Executive Alliance (NEA) today announce that they have agreed to terms that merge the membership and efforts of the NEA into SIG, which will spotlight the sourcing opportunities in Latin America to SIG's global audience.
As part of the merger, NEA will be positioned as “LatAm Alliance, a SIG Advisory Council.” It will continue to service existing members, and will focus on connecting global buyers with technology talent in Latin America. The LatAm Alliance will provide market information, geographic insight and networking resources to the buying community. It will also help Latin American technology providers position themselves and their respective regions to the technology services community.
"The merger of SIG and NEA gives us a chance to update our focus," said Brian Brower, newly elected LatAm Alliance Chairman. "Our vision is to connect the global business community with the talent of Latin America. NEA helped introduce me to this emerging region of technology talent. I'm personally excited to pay it forward as part of the LatAm Alliance."
The membership will continue to be drawn from three audiences: (1) Buyers seeking to expand their sourcing options and wanting insight on the opportunities of Latin America; (2) Providers seeking to showcase their technology services to a global buying audience; and (3) Advisory groups seeking to raise awareness of regional differentiation.
“The board of NEA felt that we had succeeded on our initial mission to bring attention to nearshore, and knew we needed a bigger platform to advance our mission to the next stage of widespread adoption,” said Atul Vashistha, former Chairman of the Nearshore Executive Alliance and CEO of Neo Group. “This merger enables NEA to expand its presence and impact to a larger sourcing and procurement community.”
Adds Dawn Tiura, SIG President and CEO, “We are delighted to house the LatAm Alliance in the SIG community. This is a logical extension for SIG and provides us with even more global sourcing opportunities to share with our members.”
SIG, http://www.sig.org, is a membership organization for sourcing, outsourcing and procurement executives from Fortune 500/Global 1000 organizations and the advisors who serve them. We are widely known as a forum for sharing “next” practices and thought leadership through live networking events, virtual forums and a comprehensive online SIG resource center (SRC). The organization is unique in that it blends practitioners, service providers and advisory firms in a non-commercial environment. SIG has recently launched SIG University, a one-of-a-kind certification and training program for professionals and executives seeking deep expertise in sourcing and governance for themselves or their teams. In addition, we recently added UK-based Outsource magazine as a SIG brand, which provides us with unrivaled digital content for the opinion-formers and decision-makers at the heart of the outsourcing space.
The NEA was founded in 2012 by a group of outsourcing leaders on the buy, advisory and sell side to empower and connect the IT and BPO community servicing the US and Europe from LatAm locations.
