SIG Global Leadership Summit Kicks Off Next Week with Global Brands Like Hewlett-Packard, Target, Iron Mountain, Microsoft and Google On Tap to Attend and Speak
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 10, 2013 -- SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, kicks off their Global Leadership Summit (http://www.sig.org/summits-fort-worth.php) at the Fort Worth Omni Resort in Fort Worth, Texas on Monday night, October 14 with a pre-registration networking reception.
The event officially opens Tuesday morning with a keynote by Carey Lohrenz, the first female F14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot for the U.S. Navy. Her presentation on succeeding in a high-pressure environment is one of many sessions highlighting the importance of strong leadership skills. Other keynote sessions include Dr. Tim Elmore, an authority on understanding the next generation and preparing tomorrow’s leaders for today’s workforce; Brian Biro, an author of nine books and award-winning speaker; and a panel of Chief Procurement Officers and leaders from a variety of industries talking about the challenges they face daily.
“Our agenda for this Summit is amazing,” said SIG CEO and President Dawn Evans. “We not only have some of the most relevant topics and content facing leaders in procurement and outsourcing today, but we also have a veritable ‘who’s who’ in the industry at our event. The global brands that are speaking and attending cross all industries and are universally-recognized as leaders in this space as well as in their own industry. It’s just incredible.”
Jeff Felix, SIG COO, added, “I’m floored by the content we have received from our speakers. The topics are forward-thinking and the presentations offer solutions companies can take home and put to use for immediate results.”
SIG Summits bring Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies together to access the latest innovations, network and discuss issues and best practices in sourcing, procurement, outsourcing, offshoring, and nearshoring. During the three-day agenda, senior buy-side executives from a variety of industries—including financial services, retail, consumer packaged goods, healthcare, manufacturing and many others—will share successes and failures, engage in open dialogues and address challenges.
The event kicks off Monday night, October 14, with pre-registration and a networking reception, followed by three full days of keynotes, breakout sessions, roundtables and networking events. The four SIG Summit keynotes, and nearly 50 breakout sessions are presented by global brands and cover top-of-mind issues ranging from leadership to talent management to sourcing transformation.
