Roses Amidst the Thorn by Simone C. Wilson is a collection of poems which traces a couple’s intimate, twenty year relationship—their young, uninhibited love, their mature spiritual love, the breakdown of their love and the acceptance of the changes in their love. The poems reflect the spiritual connection within a relationship, the breakdown of one’s love and finally acceptance that a love has changed.
Excerpt from Roses Amidst the Thorn:
We cannot let anyone or society
Dictate our essence in life.
We must be allowed
To love, fail, experience death and rebirths
Only then can we soar!
This book is a collection of poems that takes a look at a marriage that has reached the point of separation of the couple.
