Nursery rhymes are a well-known and well-loved part of childhood. They usually feature whimsical characters and a short story narrated in a rhyming format. Nursery rhymes are told in a way that they captivate the imagination of children and let them easily remember the words and scenarios. As a father to two little boys, Simon Gaffney is familiar with the magic of nursery rhymes. In “Hump T-Rex,” he uses vibrant illustrations and a catchy rhyming narrative to craft a wonderful retelling of one of the most popular nursery rhymes – Humpty Dumpty.
“Hump T-Rex” is written in rhyming couplets, and uses lots of fun-to-say words that kids will love – and parents will enjoy playing around with. Drawing upon the tale of everyone’s favorite accident prone egg and tapping into the fact that dinosaurs are the most awesome things since, well, dinosaurs, “Hump T-Rex” is the story of a roaring, stomping new hero for kids and parents to enjoy over and over again. The funky and modern illustrations by graphic designer Gene Stapleton complete the unique and thoroughly engaging reading experience.
Infused with subtle humour and uplifting, positive fun – as well as drama and a happy ending, “Hump T-Rex” is a wonderful story that will delight both children and parents alike.
