SIM Partners (http://www.simpartners.com), a provider of local and social marketing automation technology, today announced the appointment of Gib Olander as Vice President of Product. An industry leader in product innovation, data distribution and technology, Olander boasts more than 15 years of digital marketing experience. As Vice President of Product at SIM Partners, Olander will direct new product initiatives with an emphasis on further improving Velocity’s industry-leading technology platform, as well as offer innovative solutions that ensure that brands’ location information is consistent, accurate, actionable and, most importantly, found when searched for.

Having an accurate and consistent presence in local, mobile and social search results is critical in today’s always-connected world. With a fragmented media landscape, marketing, IT and technology teams at Fortune 500 companies find it more difficult than ever to manage, populate and measure the effectiveness of location-specific content across these varied platforms. SIM Partners Velocity platform has been automating and measuring the effectiveness of these campaigns for more than eight years.

“As a proven leader in local marketing, Gib will no doubt serve as a valuable asset to the SIM Partners team,” said Jon Schepke, CEO of SIM Partners. “SIM Partners continues to grow rapidly to meet the increased demand for advanced marketing automation solutions like our industry-leading Velocity platform, which currently powers more than 25,000 locations for brands across local search. Gib’s background makes him well-equipped to take SIM Partners’ product innovation to the next level.”

Before joining SIM Partners, Olander was Founder and CEO of Local Viewpoints, an award-winning Wavetable Labs funded SaaS business taking a mobile-first approach to collecting, analyzing and publishing customer feedback. Prior to Local Viewpoints, Olander led product and market development strategy for Localeze, helping to invent business listing identity management and building Localeze into the local data source for more than 300 local, mobile and social platforms across the internet. Additionally, Olander has helped businesses utilize marketing to grow while at iCrossing, Advo, Citysearch and the Ameritech Yellow Pages.

Over the past decade, Olander has become a recognized thought leader in local search, speaking frequently at search industry conferences like BIA/Kelsey, PubCon, ClickZ Live and SMX. Additionally, he has written columns for Search Engine Land, MediaPost and Visibility Magazine.
