Even Better Than The Real Thing? The Sin City Theatre's Compendium Pays Tribute to the Myth & Music of U2
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 01, 2014 -- After a very successful first run, show producers John Padon and Pete Housley at The Sin City Theatre are thrilled to once again offer music fans the chance to rediscover one of their favorite artists and hear the songs the way they remember. The next Rock ‘N Roll Compendium opens this Thursday, July 3rd with a tribute to one of the most celebrated and popular bands in the world, U2!
Audiences of Rock ‘N Roll Compendium: a tribute to the Myth & Music of U2 will experience the band from their humble beginnings in Dublin, Ireland, to a time when they dominated MTV and the airwaves, eventually attaining international acclaim and global success. Documentary film footage, combined with a dynamic live performance by phenomenal U2 tribute act, Arms of America, take you on a journey through the band’s history and legacy.
“The show will be entertaining and fact flowing,” according to Sam Torreso, band founder and The Edge character for Arms of America. “U2 is one of the best-selling artists in history, over 150 million records sold, winning 22 Grammy’s, nominated 34 times, more than any other band in history. Choosing U2 songs for the Compendium show was easy, deciding which ones to leave out was difficult!”
Compendium audiences will be treated to an authentic U2 show, complete with an original drum kit used by the band, hit songs, popular b sides, plus the opportunity to participate in the ONE campaign, an organization co-founded by U2’s Bono. ONE is an international campaigning and advocacy organization of nearly 6 million people taking action to end extreme poverty and preventable disease.
Even Better Than The Real Thing? You decide! Rock ‘N Roll Compendium: a tribute to the Myth & Music of U2, featuring Arms of America, runs through August 17th. Next up is Nirvana with a Rock ‘N Roll Compendium beginning August 22nd, featuring renowned tribute act, Smells Like Nirvana. Additional tributes and band residencies soon to be announced.
