Jonathan Clark to lead workshop on Open Data Standards and the Internet of Things

"We're excited to be participating in the Internet of Things Conference at MIT. MIT has not only been the place where the term Internet of Things was coined, but also at the forefront for technology vision and leadership that directly benefits the IoT."

Sine-Wave Technologies, Inc. a leader in Internet of Things Platforms, has announced that its CEO and Founder, Jonathan Clark, will deliver an address entitled "Driving Value by Open Data in the IoT" on Monday, October 6, at the 4th International Conference on the Internet of Things (IoT 2014). His talk will be included as part of the Workshop on Open Data Standards.

There's tension between software, hardware and back-office systems that must be resolved for the IoT space to move forward. Fortunately there are solutions to this using open data standards, including standards that are actively in development. Clark will be discussing how open standards have facilitated real world solutions for Sine-Wave's customers. In addition, he will focus on new trends in open standards, including exciting progress in programming languages and the IoT.

Clark's address will also focus on the use of open data in the IoT, from finding the right balance between openness, privacy and compliance, to learning how to make significant use of "digital exhaust," or data that's often considered "waste" today.

"We're excited to be participating in the Internet of Things Conference at MIT. MIT has not only been the place where the term Internet of Things was coined, but also at the forefront for technology vision and leadership that directly benefits the IoT." said Clark. "This is a really exciting opportunity for us as a company to share some insights into real life examples that have benefited from open data standards and the Internet of Things over the past few years."

IoT 2014 will take place October 6-8, 2014, at the MIT Media Lab (Building E14) in Cambridge, MA. The conference is billed as the premier forum to share, discuss and witness cutting edge research in all areas of development for the Internet of Things. This year marks the IoT conference’s first Hackathon which challenges designers and developers to create the greatest IoT-related products within 24 hours.
