Independent Singer-Songwriter Releases EP and Powerful New Music Video Featuring Confessional Fan Photo Submissions
Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- In tandem with the release of his newest five-track EP, Tyler Stenson, a standout acoustic singer-songwriter in the Northwest, is proud to announce the launch of a new music video, featuring the album’s single and a stunning variety of powerful and confessional fan photo submissions.
Stenson just recently released a new collection of songs that he fittingly calls his “Lovely Little Victory” EP – an exclusively digital album that the independent artist is boldly offering as a free download. Standing as the single and the first track on this new release, “Ramblin’ Kind” is a strong and steady pop-folk tune, a la Cat Stevens, that continually references the notion of leaving.
“Showing tell-tale signs that we are alive / everybody is leaving something sometime.” The song continues, “we are always leaving or behind left behind / we are infamously all the ramblin’ kind.”
With this poignant summary of human nature, Stenson then issued an assignment to his fans: if ever they’ve left something behind (or been left behind), write it down on a piece of paper, take a photo and submit it, directly to Stenson, for inclusion within his latest music video.
The response was greater than the artist himself could have ever imagined.
“My fans certainly answered the call but even more compelling was that I received extreme confessions from complete strangers,” Stenson recounts about his recent social experiment. “As I was editing the video, only then did it hit me, exactly how powerful this video was going to be. I only hope I scraped its potential.”
Recorded in Seattle by producer and engineer Max Keene, this new “Lovely Little Victory” EP is Stenson’s 11th official release – an impressive figure for a DIY artist on any level. However, making this most recent release a step above the rest is its communal leanings; available as a free download for all, as well as, the accompaniment of this gripping video that creatively encapsulates the highs and lows of the human experience.
Tyler Stenson is an active singer/songwriter in Portland, OR that is increasingly known for his unique brand of ‘elegant folk’ music. As a result of being twice-named the “Songwriter of the Year” by the Portland Songwriters Association and “Best Male Artist” at the 2011 Portland Music Awards, Stenson has opened for Chris Isaak, John Popper and Matisyahu and was hand-selected by Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, out of 4,000 national bands, to perform at The Outlaw Roadshow at SxSW 2013. Stenson has also placed multiple songs on popular television series and two national Chevrolet ad campaigns.
