Nostalgia for the 1950s lives on in the new crafts collection from Sizzix® for its family of die cutting machines.

Sixteen iconic designs celebrate a much loved era in the 1950s die cutting and embossing collection by Sizzix designer Jen Long. A stylish assortment of Bigz™, Originals™ dies, Thinlits™ die sets and Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folders empower 1950s enthusiasts to create cards, scrapbook pages, party decorations, sewing embellishments and more.

“Crafting with the vintage look is always popular but can get pigeonholed into looking old or dated,” Long said. “I wanted this line to celebrate the retro look of the 1950s by incorporating the strong and timeless graphic shapes and elements, while evoking the feeling of nostalgia that time period can awaken in people.”

Six wafer-thin, chemically-etched Thinlits die sets fashion detailed ‘50s scenery designs with vintage kitchen sets, radios, TVs, records and bowling signs. Steel-rule Medium and Large Originals dies cut electric guitars, sunglasses, poodles, saddle shoes and signs from cardstock, chipboard, fabric, leather and vinyl. A Bigz XL camera card die captures picturesque design, while retro bead, dress, kitchen and sewing textures embellish with three sets of Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

“Our new collection allows consumers to express themselves in many unique ways with everything from paper and fabric to celebrate the fabulous 1950s style!” said Cara Mariano, Art Director for Sizzix.

The 1950s collection is now available in stores around the country, including local craft boutiques and major retail craft chains. For more information, visit http://www.Sizzix.com/home.
