Author S.J. Knight has always been fascinated by the Apostle Paul. A desire to explore what might have made him the passionate and complex character he was, led to the writing of “A Time To Act” (published by Xlibris AU) in 2015.
This book is a “back story” fleshing out the life of the famous apostle, first known as Shaul, from birth to the end of his first missionary journey. It presents him as a very real man who is both anguished and admirable, flawed and likeable, and suggests what might have been behind the more unusual quirks of his personality, which shaped his outlook to life and the gospel.
“Paul is a pivotal and often controversial figure in Christianity who intrigues many, and this book shows him not as a saint but as very human, filling in the many gaps in his early history,” Knight says. “For believers and unbelievers alike, it is a robust story of Jewish experience and travel in the First Century, and the birth of a momentous new world faith. It stands alone as a novel, but will also appeal to readers of the first three books in my ‘A Time To’ series to which it is connected, and particularly to those who appreciate biblical fiction which is faithful to the scriptural record.”
“A Time To Act” hopes to leave readers with a sense of the harsh reality of those tumultuous times, of just how courageous were the men who spread the gospel, and an assurance that nobody is beyond the reach of divine love.
