The addition of automated database replication takes SkySpark Analytics-at-the-Edge technology to the next level.
RICHMOND, Va. (PRWEB) November 13, 2018
SkyFoundry (http://www.skyfoundry.com), a leading developer of analytics software for use with IoT device and equipment data, introduced Automated Database Replication today during the opening of the company’s SkyPosium User Conference in Denver, Colorado. The replication feature enables databases from distributed SkySpark® nodes to be automatically replicated to a central server or cloud platform for backup and high availability data access.
SkySpark® Everywhere™ addresses one of the key challenges in implementing next generation IoT applications, which is the ability to move advanced analytics to edge devices and connect those devices together in a unified, seamless distributed computing system that can scale to thousands of nodes, millions of points, and trillions of data samples.
The SkySpark software platform automatically analyzes equipment and smart device data to identify issues, faults and opportunities for improved performance and operational savings. SkySpark Everywhere can run in low-cost embedded devices as small as a Raspberry Pi™ Zero, and be deployed on industrial PCs, servers and the Cloud. Data collection, analytics processing, visualization and reporting functions are executed locally in each node and results are combined into seamless views for operators using a standard web browser. Secure inter-node communications are achieved with SkyFoundry’s “Arcbeam” websocket-based protocol.
“The introduction of SkySpark Everywhere in 2017 changed the game for data analytics for the Internet of Things by embracing the reality that the IoT is a distributed computing challenge. The addition of automated replication takes SkySpark Analytics-at-the-Edge technology to the next level,” said John Petze, Principal and Co-founder of SkyFoundry. “SkySpark's powerful visualization tools automatically leverage replicated data to ensure full user access to replicated databases even when those systems are offline.”
SkySpark combines full user programmability with an extensive library of built-in functions allowing analytics to be custom-tailored to meet the real-world needs of individual systems in applications of all types. Owners and operators are able to utilize their specialized domain knowledge, in conjunction with the deep expertise of SkyFoundry Solution Partners, to implement data analytics that to fit their unique system characteristics and requirements.
