Mattress Retailer Sleep Experts Marks 10-year Anniversary
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- Mattress retailer Sleep Experts celebrates its 10-year anniversary this month. Local entrepreneurs Chris and Christine Cook opened their first mattress store in Dallas on July 4th, 2003 and have grown Sleep Experts into a trusted and recognizable brand, with a strong focus on customer service, culture and community.
After building a loyal customer base in DFW, Sleep Experts expanded to Austin in 2012. Earlier this year the company surpassed the 50-store milestone, and today the store count stands at 53, with 43 locations in North Texas and 10 in Central Texas. Expansion continues in Austin, where the company is on track to have 20 stores open by 2015.

Through this program, customers’ old mattresses are recycled and donated to local shelters that serve women and children affected by domestic violence, child abuse or homelessness. Since 2003 the company has donated more than 12,000 beds and 15,000 blankets to more than 40 local shelters in D-FW and Austin.
Lisa, a survivor of domestic violence, shared her thoughts on what it meant to get a good night’s sleep when she sought shelter at SafePlace in Austin.
“That first night of sleep meant to me that I could close my eyes and put my thoughts together, without somebody coming through that door,” said Lisa. “You don’t know what it’s like to finally be able to lay your head down and rest, and know that is not going to be taken away from you. For me it meant freedom and peace for the first time in I don’t know when.”
“When we launched Share the Gift of Sleep in 2003, we did not realize how much it would mean to women like Lisa, or that it would grow to become such an important part of our culture at Sleep Experts,” said Christine. “As we celebrate 10 years of Sharing the Gift of Sleep, we want to thank our customers who continue to make it possible by donating their old beds to help families in need.”
