TMG Brands Donate Giveaways to Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari Raffle
Compton, California (PRWEB) March 05, 2015 -- Transamerican Manufacturing Group (TMG) brands including Smittybilt, Pro Comp and Rubicon Express are among vendors donating to the Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari raffle taking place this weekend. The event happens March 6-8 in Truckhaven Hills, California where an expected 1,500 trucks, Jeeps and 4x4s will run trails, raise funds for off-roading causes and give away over $100,000 in prizes. This is the 53rd occurrence of the largest 4 Wheel Drive event on the West Coast presented by the Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club of San Diego.
Pro Comp, Smittybilt and Rubicon Express are all supplying gift certificates for parts and accessories in the amount of $1,000 for each brand and G2 Axle & Gear and LRG Rims are each providing $500 certificates. Last year, over 8,000 people attended the event and the bucket raffle is one of the weekend’s highlights. Fans flock and enter the drawing to win parts for their Jeep 4x4 s, pre-runners, trucks, ATVs and quads.
“There are different buckets dedicated to items like winches and bumpers that off-roaders are interested in,” explains off-road enthusiast Robert King. “In the past, the Tierra Del Sol giveaways have been massive and the only downside is sometimes during the drawing the wind kicks up and the Ocotillo sand blasts you.”
Off-roaders of all different skill levels run their rigs on hills, sand swept washes and over desert rocks and ridges. Considered a family-friendly event, children are welcome and encouraged to participate. This year marks the debut of a new system in place allowing participants to go straight to registration right when they arrive, saving time.
The Truckhaven Hills area is located within approximately 100 miles of San Diego and this proximity gives it a military focus as well. “We plan to bring active military participants onstage so the crowd can applaud their service,” says Patrick Harrison, Vice President of the Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club of San Diego. He adds that “There’s a great prize in store for one of them.”
Following the raffle on Saturday night, Poison Spyder Customs and BFGoodrich are co-sponsoring this year’s fireworks display. Online registration for the Desert Safari event is closed, but in person registration will be available beginning this Friday at 9 a.m.
