Softcom Internet Communications, Inc., industry-leading high-speed internet service provider for rural communities in Central California, is pleased to announce a cutting-edge technology upgrade for their primary tower at the Network Operations Center. A significant milestone for Softcom, this upgrade will improve service to all of its customers as they complete the transition to high-speed 4G LTE.

Braving this season’s harsh weather, Softcom teams have been working non-stop over the past several months to install and test the new equipment on the 195-foot tower located at the company’s headquarters in Galt, California. Many Softcom customers have already been switched over to 4G LTE service, while others are scheduled or are in the process of upgrading from their current WiMAX service – all at no cost to them.

Softcom believes that rural internet customers shouldn’t have to put up with slow DSL or laggy data-capped satellite internet service. This announcement is just one more step in their commitment to provide ultra-fast reliable internet for rural areas in Central California including Galt, Herald, Clements, Acampo, Wilton, Lodi, Lockeford, Walnut Grove, and the surrounding communities.

Softcom’s industry-leading 4G LTE services can provide customers with download speeds up to 50 megabits per second. The term 4G LTE is a combination of two terms – 4G means fourth generation of data technology, and LTE means Long Term Evolution. Together this means that Softcom customers are getting the most advanced wireless data technology available, plus a commitment to continually improve. Bottom line for Softcom customers? Better service, stronger connections, and faster speeds across the board.

“This upgrade is just one more step in our continuous efforts to expand and improve our network through the deployment of cutting edge technology and services,” said Kevin Triplett, Softcom President and CEO. “We’re excited to announce this upgrade knowing that it will widen our reach and allow us to offer better service in expanded areas for our customers.”
