With a mobile, smart and discreet looking device, SoleMate puts the power of sterilization in the user’s hands.

Regotech, a Seattle-based startup, launched a crowdfunding campaign for SoleMate, a shoe deodorizing gadget. Designed with advanced technologies, SoleMate can kill up to 99.97% of odor-causing bacteria. Using its accompanying app, SoleMate is not only portable, but effective. The team has turned to the crowdfunding community to begin production and share SoleMate worldwide.

“I live a very active lifestyle and am always at the gym or traveling for business. Whether it’s my gym shoes or my dress shoes, shoe odor is inevitable,” said Alex Xia, founder of Regotech. “My idea behind SoleMate was to solve this problem once and for all. With a mobile, smart and discreet looking device, SoleMate puts the power of sterilization in the user’s hands.”

In SoleMate’s patented system, ozone sterilization oxidizes and destroys the structures of pathogens, which kills and prevents foot fungus and other infections. Ionic deodorization produces negative ions that eliminate virtually every germ that causes shoe and foot odor. SoleMate can cleanse a user’s shoes in just one hour.

To use SoleMate, consumers simply connect the gadget to the app using Bluetooth 4.0. Next, consumers provide information, which can be saved within the app, about the material and type of shoes they wish to cleanse. From there, users can select either a Normal, Strong or Timer mode. Once a user has set their preferences, they may place the detachable pods found on either side of SoleMate into their shoes and place their shoes in the accompanying sterilization bag. Using a special algorithm for each consumer, SoleMate offers a customized approach to cleansing users’ shoes.

SoleMate does not overheat or overdry shoes, which is especially important with leather shoes. The SoleMate app is compatible with iPhone iOS 7 or up and Android 4.3 or up. In addition to its Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, SoleMate can fully charge in 2.5 hours, which is enough for one month of usage.

SoleMate is now available for pre-order starting at only $59. Those who back the campaign have the option of purchasing the SoleMate Ion, or the SoleMate Pro, which is 50% more powerful and starts at $74. For more information, visit the campaign at
