Not only is it safe, but it’s also effective. Now, consumers can enjoy their shoes for a longer period of time knowing their feet and shoes are safe from harmful odor-causing bacteria.

Designed by the team at Regotech, SoleMate is a smart deodorizer that can sterilize a pair of shoes or workout gear in just one hour. The sleek design has two detachable pods on either end that are simply placed inside each shoe. From there, users can select the shoe type from the accompanying app’s virtual closet. This ensures that special shoes, like leather, are cleansed at the appropriate temperature and won’t stretch out. The team behind SoleMate turned to Indiegogo a few weeks ago to help raise $20K for their health-conscious gadget.

“I’m really into fitness, but I was getting tired of ruining my shoes and walking around with embarrassing foot odor,” said Alex Xia, founder of Regotech. “That’s why my team and I came up with SoleMate. Not only is it safe, but it’s also effective. Now, consumers can enjoy their shoes for a longer period of time knowing their feet and shoes are safe from harmful odor-causing bacteria.”

SoleMate offers universal application for consumers worldwide. Not only does SoleMate work on shoes, but the gadget also deodorizes and sterilizes a variety of items, including boxing gloves, helmets, sports pads and baseball mitts. SoleMate is user-friendly and can be operated with or without the app. To use SoleMate, users place the detachable pods in each of their shoes and select a “Normal,” “Strong” or “Timing” mode. Once the timing has been selected, users may then place the shoes into the sterilization bag and seal for freshness.

SoleMate was designed to offer a long-lasting effect with the ability to keep shoes fresh up to 16 hours, even after wearing them. In order to be as effective as possible, users must select the appropriate shoe type being cleaned. Providing detailed information about each shoe, including material and type (flats, tennis shoes, canvas shoes, etc.) helps the app create an algorithm. This special algorithm determines the amount of ozone that should be generated to match the amount of possible odor. Plugging in the shoe type and material also ensures that shoes don’t overheat or overdry, which is important with leather shoes.

SoleMate is available at a discounted price for a limited time. Indiegogo backers can take advantage of early bird deals starting at only $59. For more information on SoleMate, or to purchase a gadget, visit the campaign at bit.ly/SoleMateIGG.
