Everyone deserves a good pair of shoes, as each day children around the globe are prevented from attending school and adults are unable to work as walking becomes unbearable because of a lack of shoes.

RE/MAX Realtor Brandon Landry recently announced his office, located at 114 Curran Lane in Lafayette, is now an official drop-off location for Soles4Souls. “I will be collecting donated shoes for this outstanding humanitarian organization indefinitely,” said Landry. “I am encouraging the entire community to show their support by dropping off a new or gently worn pair of shoes, as every pair can go a long way in helping someone in need.”

To date, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed more than 26 million pairs of shoes to people in need in 127 countries around the world and all 50 states in the U.S. The vision of Soles4Souls is to eradicate extreme poverty by 2050. To achieve this goal, Soles4Souls monetizes used shoes and clothing to create sustainable jobs, as well as fund direct relief efforts, which include distribution of new shoes and clothing throughout the world.

“Everyone deserves a good pair of shoes, as each day children around the globe are prevented from attending school and adults are unable to work as walking becomes unbearable because of a lack of shoes,” said Landry. “It is our duty as fellow human beings to help those that are less fortunate around the world.”

This is a responsibility Landry also instills in his four daughters. “Family is the most important thing to me,” he said, “and I want to impress upon my children the importance of giving back to the less fortunate.”
