Solomon Associates Senior Chemicals Consultant John Havener to Speak at the AFPM 2013 Q&A and Technology Forum
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 02, 2013 -- Solomon Associates, the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, today announced John Havener, senior chemicals consultant, is scheduled to speak at the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers’ Q&A and Technology Forum taking place October 7–9 at the Sheraton in Dallas, Texas.
Havener will give a presentation titled, “Integrating Refining and Petrochemicals Performance Metrics” during the Plant Automation & Decision Support sessions. This particular session also will cover topics including Technology and the Changing Workforce, Basic Building Blocks: Supply Chain, Planning, and BII; Risk Management; the Transformation of Plant Automation in Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturing; and ICS Security.
“The industry has demonstrated a demand for universal performance indicators that span many industries,” said Havener. “Upstream, midstream, and downstream refining companies need to be able to directly compare and combine metrics with petrochemicals, polymers, chlor-alkali, and vinyls producers. Individual plants in massive industrial sites need to speak the same performance language.”
Havener’s presentation will address how some integrated refining and petrochemical sites are already doing this. These leaders are comparing and combining refining metrics with petrochemical plant metrics. This capability is a step forward because today most petrochemical plants have unique metrics for a given process and cannot compare metrics even with other petrochemical plants. The advent of common metrics for petrochemicals is useful even if not combined with refining.
The Q&A and Technology Forum program has four major components to give attendees the industry’s most comprehensive meeting on refinery operations and process technology: the Q&A Panel Sessions, the Principles & Practices Sessions, and the Plant Automation/Decision Support Sessions, and a table top exhibition.
