I’ve always had a vision of providing a Public Safety Suite that allows agencies to move people and resources around and efficiently as Amazon moves packages. Now we are running on the same AWS infrastructure to accomplish this.

SOMA Global, a leading provider of Public Safety as a Service (PSAAS), has deployed the industry’s first fully-integrated cloud Computer-Aided Dispatch and Public Safety Solution for Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia. Lancaster County is the first to utilize the Public Safety Platform, fully running on Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud (US-West) Region, including cloud-based dispatch, mobile dispatch, records management (incidents, criminal, civil) and jail records management.

“SOMA is committed to providing law enforcement officers and first responders with the most modern technology to help them be more effective at their jobs and ultimately save more lives,” said Peter Quintas, Founder and CEO of SOMA Global.

The SOMA Platform allows for deployment in the cloud, on-premises or in a hybrid scenario. Lancaster County, Virginia was deployed in mid-2018 and is the first to fully run on the cloud for emergency dispatch and response, including innovative features such as:

  • Dispatch and access from anywhere, in any browser;
  • Fully integrated web maps to geographically visualize incidents;
  • Live caller, unit and call location video streaming and sharing, including live drone video; and
  • Real-time alerts and mobile access from any device, anywhere.

“SOMA Global is an innovative technology partner that is committed to the safety of our deputies and protecting the lives of our community,” said Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie

“I’ve always had a vision of providing a Public Safety Suite that allows agencies to move people and resources around and efficiently as Amazon moves packages. Now we are running on the same AWS infrastructure to accomplish this,” said Nick Stohlman, SOMA Co-Founder.

Lancaster County, Virginia joins a growing list of SOMA Global partner agencies. SOMA is on track to add over 30 more agencies to its PSAAS offering by the end of 2019 - most of them on AWS GovCloud.

“By leveraging AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region, SOMA Global is providing law enforcement customers with timely access to crime data in a highly secure deployment that meets the requirements of the CJIS Security Policy,” said Kim Majerus, Leader, State and Local Government, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “SOMA Global is showing the power of cloud to enable secure, scalable, and agile solutions to law enforcement customers.”
