Very 'catchy' fun way to learn new songs - I can see why the children love it and that they get a lot out of it - more than music & movement.

When Songs To Educate comes to town to do professional development, teachers get a delightful surprise. Not only are these arts integrated education trainings useful, they are also effective music and movement therapy for the teachers.

The founders, Paul and Melanie Zeir are currently directing teacher trainings for two Boulder County early childhood learning centers. Here are a few quotes from teachers after the most recent workshop in August:

"Very 'catchy' fun way to learn new songs - I can see why the children love it and that they get a lot out of it - more than music & movement."

"I learned some fun new movement songs that younger kids will love. These songs are so creative!"

"Wonderful! I really liked each song that was introduced and am excited to use them!"

Songs to Educate has developed a substantial body of curriculum based songs with movement theater accompaniment for children ages 2 through 12. The program has been tested in 4 states with thousands of students in public and independent schools. Children love these songs and teachers value the content and accompanying lesson plans as a complement to their curriculum and most importantly, a way to truly integrate the arts in everyday learning!

This unique curriculum assists teachers in human body exploration, world geography, earth sciences, social studies, math and even language arts through integrated music and movement.

Songs To Educate approaches the arts as a vehicle of learning and expression. Music and movement are primordial human arts meant to be an integral part of life, learning and community.

The value of arts integrated approach to education is multifold. Children naturally learn and retain content when they are given an opportunity to express it. Presenting a subject in a multi-modal approach promotes enthusiastic participation from students. Using song, movement, story, play, visual and tactile arts as tools of exploration add relevancy and connection...and bring joy to learning!

Songs to Educate offers a broad range of downloadable (and very affordable) songs, dances and lesson plans. We want to help teachers to integrate this method and put Songs to Educate in their teaching tool kits. Join the arts integrated education movement.
