There’s something magical that happens when you put a child on a horse, and Equest has been bringing hope and healing to children in our area for a generation.
Flower Mound, TX (PRWEB) October 19, 2015
Dusty Wallace Insurance, a family owned insurance provider with offices that serve Flower Mound and the surrounding communities, is initiating a joint fundraising drive with Equest, a charitable organization that offers innovative equine therapy programs for differently-abled children.
The Equest mission is to provide empowerment and enhance the quality of life for those who have special needs by using specially trained horses to provide hope and healing via equine assisted activities and therapeutic programs. Equest serves individuals with a broad range of developmental challenges and disabilities that range from Down syndrome to blindness and deafness. Powered by volunteers, Equest relies on donations to continue providing therapeutic programs to the local community.
“There’s something magical that happens when you put a child on a horse, and Equest has been bringing hope and healing to children in our area for a generation,” says Dusty Wallace, owner and principal of Dusty Wallace Insurance. “Here in Texas, horses are part of our heritage,” continues Wallace, “and I’ve seen the dramatic and life-changing improvements that can result from equine therapy.”
Wallace and his team are working day and night to get the word out about Equest and the effectiveness of equine therapy with special needs children, as well as to gather contributions that will be used to enure Equest programs are able to continue without interruption. The team is also gathering resources to build an online social media page in an effort to draw in support from families all across Texas.
In addition to championing Equest and advocating for the effectiveness of equine therapy for special needs children, Dusty Wallace insurance has assisted a number of other local charities in the past few months, and has committed to assisting at least one new charity every 60 days going forward.
